Prepare to fall in love with Italy’s most vibrant and illustrious cities – Rome, Florence and Venice – along with Cinque Terre, on this elegant private tour through the birthplace of the Renaissance. Marvel at endless art and architectural gems, savor fine Chianti wines in sun-drenched Tuscan vineyards, and wander through Italy’s most beautiful medieval towns.


Day Activity
September 19

Overnight flight into Rome “The Eternal City.”

September 20

Check-in to our 4 star hotel. This evening, enjoy a walking tour of the famous Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain followed by a welcome dinner at a local restaurant featuring regional specialties and fine Italian wines.
September 21

This morning we visit the Vatican City which includes entrance to the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. This afternoon we delight in a guided motorcoach tour of Rome featuring Quirinale, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, and Campo dei Fiori.
September 22

Our day begins with an ancient city tour of Rome then to the Roman Colosseum, Rome’s most popular monument. At the end of our tour we depart for Florence.

September 23

Cinque Terre
This morning we head up to Cinque Terre for a guided tour of the Italian Riviera Coastline. In each of the 5 towns, colorful houses and vineyards cling to steep terraces, harbors are filled with fishing boats and trattorias which turn out seafood specialties along with the Liguria region’s famous sauce, pesto. Enjoy free time for lunch.

September 24

Our morning begins with a guided tour of Pisa where we will see the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. This tour includes entry into the medieval cathedral at the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles). This afternoon we will enjoy a visit to the renaissance-era city of San Gimignano. Tonight we have dinner in an Agriturismo (Italian Farm).
September 25

Piazza Santa Croce, Palazzo Vecchio, Cathedral of Santa Maria Dei Fiori, and the famous “Gates of Paradiso” are included in today’s guided tour of Florence. Also included is entrance to the Accademia Museum to see the original Statue of David. An afternoon wine tasting provides a sampling of the region’s greatest offerings. There will be free time this afternoon for individual exploration of this famous city. In the evening we experience real Italian cooking with our cooking class at Castel in the Chianti area.
September 26

Today we leave the Tuscan region and head to Venice for the remainder of our trip. We will have a guided tour of the historic city center. Visit the Basilica of San Marco, the Doge’s Palace, see the famous St. Marks Square, Ponte Sighs, the Rialto Bridge and so much more as we enjoy our time in Venice.
September 27

Our day begins with a boat ride on the canal to the historic center of Ca’ Rezzonico for a guided tour. Ca Rezzonico is a palazzo (palace) on the grand canal in the Dorsoduro sestiere of Venice. Today it is a public museum dedicated to 18th century Venice. You will have free time in the afternoon to explore on your own or take a gondola ride. Tonight we have our farewell dinner in a local Venetian Restaurant.
September 28

Travel Home
Transfer to airport for flight home.
